They're creating a much bigger problem than the one they're trying to solve. And it's mind-boggling, absolutely mind-boggling, that they don't see it and that these discussions have even made it this far.
James Hinchcliffe on INDYCAR mandating domed skids, Motorsport.com, April 5th 2016
The minute he got in front of me, he slowed down half-a-second a lap because he knows I'm fighting him for the championship and he was out of the race. It's probably the most unsportsmanlike thing I've ever seen on the racetrack, apart from shunting someone into a wall.
Wade Cunningham on Sebastien Saavedra, Iowa 2009
The last I looked, I earned the label of Indy 500 champion; those lobbing unfounded accusations at me have not.
Eddie Cheever Jr. after Watkins Glen 06
If you run around in the back with the squirrels, you're bound to get your nuts cracked.
PJ Chesson
...if everyone agrees on a spec kit, IndyCar needs to really use the chance to get something that looks good, doesn't have all this winglet crap stuck all over it, and doesn't create all this dirty air.
Will Power on aerokits, motorsport.com, May 4th 2016
I think Briscoe and I had a pretty good race going on, but we got what we got.
Scott Dixon on losing the race and the championship, Homestead 2009
We'd love to see Buddy Rice in a car and in the Indy 500, but as best we can tell, no driver has ever qualified for the Indy 500 from their couch.
TrackSideOnline, May 2009
This is just an excellent race and to be a part of the history, I'm really grateful for that.
Roger Yasukawa, Indy 2007
I can tell you one thing, with 50 to go, I thought we were going to go home and close our tent.
Roger Penske, Indy 2006
Andy Granatelli for as much as he put into the sport, especially at Indianapolis. I had to deal with that big kiss. I can still smell the garlic.

That's a good way to lose a championship.

That's the kind of incident that leaves skidmarks *inside* the cockpit!

Tom Carnegie
It's a living, breathing, organism.

James Hinchcliffe on beard growth, Tim and Sid's Plays of the Week, September 14th 2015
Back then there were 50-75 cars just trying to make the field. And they were the best drivers in the world. I remember thinking; I can’t believe this. I can't believe I got a spot.
A.J. Foyt on qualifying for his first Indianapolis 500 mile race
I'm tired of being nice about it. The fact is, grip created by aerodynamic downforce is our enemy... At the moment, the downforce is so great that it masks the handling and hurts the racing
Rick Mears on what's wrong with IndyCar, Motorsport.com, October 28th 2015
I just kept focused, focused, focused, all day long, getting every corner perfect.
Helio Castroneves, St Pete's 2007
There comes a time in a race where money doesn't matter, living doesn't matter. Winning is the only thing that matters, and so when you go into those corners, it's winning that tells all.
Al Unser Jr.
This is a huge day for the IndyCar Series and for our sport as a whole, for sure.
Michael Andretti, February 22nd 2008
I mean this guy can't even keep his lies straight. He's told so many in the last week, he's not sure what the truth is.
Robin Miller on Kevin Kalkoven, February 2008
Now they've got competition and they are not talking about winning. I feel like they want to sit around and hold hands and sing. I want to win.
Chip Ganassi on Honda, St Petersberg, March 23rd 2013

It takes a lot of guts to expose yourself in front of millions of people, in front of all the media, in front of all your peers. If somebody came to me and said, "Hey, you want to run Texas in an IRL car," I'd say, "Hell, no. I don't want to get embarrassed." She's doing that. I have a lot of respect for that.
Jeff Burton on Danica Patrick, June 2010
Some of the drivers roll out this 'safety' word, and suddenly it ties everybody's hands. But those arguments make no sense anyway. Remove downforce and you actually improve safety
Rick Mears on downforce, Motorsport.com, October 28th 2015
Without the IRL, a lot of guys would never have been able to show what they can do.
Tony Stewart, May 2007
If he thinks I'm not going to remember that, HE'S CRAZY!
Danica Patrick on Dan Wheldon, Milwaukee 2007
Gentlemen... restart your engines!
Tom Carnegie, Indy 2004
If we're racing on Superspeedways with catch fencing, I fear we're just playing the odds until we have something protecting our heads. It’s a scary thing to say.
Ryan Hunter-Reay on canopies, Racer Magazine, 15 September 2014
I just can't wait to get back in the car. I wonder if I'm still any good.
Will Power on the long off season, St Petersburg, March 21st 2013
Some of the drivers who don't want to do the Indy 500, they just have small balls. I think that's the only explanation.

You don't gotta win by five seconds - you just gotta win.
Tony Kanaan, Motegi 2007
What makes IndyCar racing so good is there's not much you can do on your car to differentiate it from the others. It's only dampers, third springs. There's the aero with the aero kits – and hopefully those are going away.
