Dan Wheldon to Chip Ganassi, Nashville 2006
Some of the drivers roll out this 'safety' word, and suddenly it ties everybody's hands. But those arguments make no sense anyway. Remove downforce and you actually improve safety

Marty Roth, Indy Bump Day 2007
The minute he got in front of me, he slowed down half-a-second a lap because he knows I'm fighting him for the championship and he was out of the race. It's probably the most unsportsmanlike thing I've ever seen on the racetrack, apart from shunting someone into a wall.

I was frustrated since Motegi and wanted to prove a point. When you're in a competitive package, you can't let points slip. I can eat breakfast tomorrow morning now instead of stabbing my fork into the table.
Dan Wheldon, Kansas 2007
That's a good way to lose a championship.
Tony Kanaan, Kansas 2007
Hope you're all snug in your beds, while Indycars dance in your head...

Danica Patrick, June 2005
I promise you this: it isn't the last you've seen of me at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. My last time there will not be a day when I'm walking out with my tail between my legs.
Paul Tracy, Indy Bump Day 2010
Maybe he should start thinking about driving and stop thinking about dancing because that was a stupid move.

This is just an excellent race and to be a part of the history, I'm really grateful for that.
Roger Yasukawa, Indy 2007
What makes IndyCar racing so good is there's not much you can do on your car to differentiate it from the others. It's only dampers, third springs. There's the aero with the aero kits – and hopefully those are going away.

I know a lot of people say that Iowa is in the middle of nowhere, but you know what, we get such a great crowd and they're so enthusiastic. As a driver you could put me in paradise, but if there's nobody in the grandstands then it's not good racing.
Dan Wheldon on Iowa Speedway, June 2009
As a past driver, I'd answer the phone if Roger or Chip called...
Sarah Fisher on keeping Josef Newgarden in her team, Racer.com, August 3rd 2015
For a moment, all is right with the world - Danica Patrick is leading the Indianapolis 500.
Adam Alexander, Indy 2005
...if everyone agrees on a spec kit, IndyCar needs to really use the chance to get something that looks good, doesn't have all this winglet crap stuck all over it, and doesn't create all this dirty air.
Will Power on aerokits, motorsport.com, May 4th 2016
